The Peake family settled in Bristol in 1810.  This family home was built on North Street across from the village green in 1861.  The last of the Bristol Peakes, Peveril Field Peakes, resided here until 1984.  (#10859)

The Bosworth Homestead

    
    
  
  




One of the first wood frame buildings in Bristol was built at the northeast corner of the village green in 1794.  This  home, located on that site, was completed in 1830 incorporating parts of the original building.  The motto "Animus Valet" (The Spirit Conquers) was added by resident David Bosworth, founder in 1878 of The Bristol Manufacturing Company and an active Adventist minister.  (#10840)
