Sentiero a Mare, Monterosso al Mare, Cinque Terre
Sentiero a Mare is a twelve kilometer trail, in places flat and easy, in others steep and strenuous, but always interesting and beautiful. It links the Cinque Terra ("five towns" in Italian.) Conveniently, the towns are also linked by rail, so the return from a hike is quick and easy. Although rain threatened, we are fortunate to have had the opportunity to hike the entire trail without a drop falling on us! It was a close call with so many other marvelous moments and days, but we feel that the Sentiero a Mare was the highlight of our trip to Italy.
